What Happens if You Choose Poor Batteries?
Often, your car battery may experience failure or a more severe issue. Low charge and acid stratification are said to be two of the most common causes of failure. In fact, this problem is more frequently observed in big luxury cars than their more basic counterparts. Sometimes, battery malfunction is also a result of poor driving habits such as heavy use of accessories and heaters during short-distance driving, which keeps it at a low charge. This leads to acid stratification i.e. electrolyte concentrating on the bottom, thus resulting in an acid-poor upper half. The overall performance of the battery is affected, thereby leading to battery failure.
While you may be quick to spot when your Honda Mobilio is encountering problems, figuring out the reason may not be so easy. This complicated task is best handled by professionals experienced in dealing with batteries. Typically, a battery will give you some tell-tale signs of a problem. It is rare for internal failures to happen as a result of a bad cell; in this case, you may not get any warning signs at all.
Symptoms of a Bad Battery
An old battery is especially vulnerable to failure, just like any other car part. Over time, car batteries start to drain out due to repeated cycles of discharging, extreme temperatures, and other factors. If your car is slow to start, there is something certainly wrong with its battery. Your first line of action in such a case must be to get your battery tested at the earliest.
If your dash lights work perfectly but your car doesn’t start, it may be that the battery is not strong enough to completely energise the starter. Experiencing frequent jump starts? This may be the result of an older battery that is losing its ability to hold a charge for long. In such a scenario, it’s time to get a new one. Moreover, if your battery is new and still requires frequent jump starts, it may be prematurely wearing out and could need a replacement.
